Once again: there is a strange coincidence between the name Ipad (I stands for information, as Apple announces) and Info-Pad, a term from an 2006 SF story around Space Investigator Lennard Green, who uses flat panels like this… so: is the Ipad a really futuristic product?
I’m in two minds whether or not to get one of these. It’s going to be either an iPad or Laptop. The upsides I can see are the brilliant touchscreen, battery life and quality of the whole system. The downside for me is the fact that some websites will load in the iPad as if you’re browsing through a mobile phone (ie. dumbed down) and no Flash support. I also hate the bloated iTunes on the PC with a passion which is required to back up the system. I’ll be purchasing either an iPad or Laptop soon.
do you know how to download itunes thing without paying……. ?? i made an account without paying .. so is there any trick for downloading games without paying ???
@brandonjh3 damn, i have an even faster computer labtop that costs around the ipad prices, wifi or 3g. dammit… i give props however on the unique atmosphere this products presents.
at least one of the 3 things has to occur before i even consider buying an i pad
1. if it had a usb port and was more compatible to other devices and applications
2. if it was thinner and lighter
3. if it had autostereo 3d graphics .
I was using one today at the Apple Store in London today, & I have to say it is really nice. One of those pieces of technology that people will just WANT to have, so Apple will make a lot of money with this I think.
