iPad Review: Safari, Mail, App Store and iBooks

June 1, 2010 by i4e

This is part three of my iPad review series. In this video I cover four of Apple’s included apps: Safari, Mail, App Store and iBooks You may notice in these videos that I don’t really concentrate on the cons of the iPad. Like my iPhone review videos, I prefer more of a walkthrough style. However, I’ll be taking questions for a future video series shortly. That is when I will point out my thoughts on the pros and cons, as well as anything else worth noting. But in the meantime, enjoy these videos. There’s plenty more to come! I want a macbook, but my parents have said no until college, plus the price means I can’t buy one on my own. Is the iPad a good substitute? only for doing small tasks though, of course. I have really been thinking about getting one. What is your opinion/

Dude that was the best, most comprehensive review of the iPad that I’ve seen so far.
    Thanks for being so thorough!

Hmm… Why did apple leave out the Clock app, The calculator app, the stocks app, or the weather app? I used calculator quite often, along with weather. Didn’t really use stocks– and I used Clock app for a stopwatch, timer, and an alarm. I planned to replace my iPod touch with an iPad, but am now skeptical, however.
What else is apple leaving out?

  18. PrancerTube says:

how much are the books in the ibooks app?

  19. fswmacguy says:

@FlightSimTutorials I couldn’t agree more. Flash on a netbook kills the battery, and I couldn’t see how it would be any more efficient on an iPad.

  20. BrunoMCPvideo says:

    How’s the WordPress app?

  21. theiFanboy says:

cool vid, I love ur vids! I want an iPad so bad :P My brother has one, its tottaly awsome : ) But what do you love the most about the iPad?

  22. FlightSimTutorials says:

Actually not having flash on the iPad is not a huge deal. The world will be slowly moving away from the crap that flash is to HTML5 because flash is not only a huge computer resource hog but also a security risk so I think Apple is doing its part to force a move away from flash. Youtube is already in testing HTML5 and it too will be phasing it out.

  23. crackasauce says:

At first I thought the iPad seemed like an iPhone with less features. I am starting to want one now, because you have just shown me how awesome it looks, just the speed and resolution alone, hah.

  24. ReneAlanisJr says:

I heard the iPad is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, have you noticed that?

  25. kahuna3901 says:

flash is something i miss. you do save battery but there is absoloutly huge amounts of the web that you just cant access. specially when your thinking about gaming and video. sure you can get some soloution but simply you will never get the amount of video on the web without flash. daily motion, hulu, the majority of channel websites that havent made an app for the iphone/ipad
